The Ukiyo was build to be a very comfortable, easy to play guitar. The customer has mobility problems on their right hand side and wanted something that didn’t need a lot of manhandling to play comfortably.
Other than that, the design brief was fairly open for our own ideas. We went with a stunning Olivewood slab top, matched with blue resin to give a great looking contrast! The base was made from Walnut with a Maple middle layer, to really help the resin’s colour to “pop”.
The neck is a laminate of Mahogany, Purpleheart and Limba. An Ebony fretboard with Brass rings and Glow in the Dark material really ties things together nicely.
