The Necromancer was probably one of the longest and most challenging builds we’ve done to date. On paper it was a fairly simple brief, but it contained a lot of elements that we’d never done before. It took a lot of time and experimenting but we’re extremely happy with how it turned out!
The brief was to build an EX style 7 string guitar with a loose “Lord of the Rings” theme. The centre point was to be an L.E.D. back-lit inlay, made to resemble “The Eye of Sauron”. This was our first attempt at L.E.D back-lighting and it proved to be an interesting endeavour. We struggled to find a good light dispersal material but finally settled on a thin layer of Thermo-Plastic.
As far as the Electronics and Hardware goes, it was to play and sound as mean as it looks! It’s loaded with a pair of Bare Knuckle Pickups® Ragnaroks and a Lo-Profile Floyd Rose® trem.
